1. USS Midway Museum

Visiting the USS Midway Museum is a rare opportunity to get close to a historic aircraft carrier and experience living American history firsthand. In this floating city, over 60 fascinating exhibits are spread throughout over 60 fascinating rooms, and the warship is docked directly by San Diego’s downtown area. The museum and aircraft collections, along with various flight simulators, offer a variety of activities to enjoy.

Unlike ordinary ships, the USS Midway was the longest-serving U.S. Navy aircraft carrier, participating in some of history’s most intense combat situations and humanitarian missions. Since 2004 when it was decommissioned and repurposed as a museum, it has become the main attraction for history lovers in San Diego. During the USS Midway’s active duty, 225,000 sailors called it home, so you’ll have the chance to experience what it’s like to spend time on this legendary ship.
